24 hours in Fiji | Travel Blogger

A flight from NYC to New Zealand became even more appealing when adding a layover in Fiji somehow reduce the price about 20%. So we didn't need much convincing to add this stop to out itinerary. We landed in Nadi, Fiji around 5:30am and got right to exploring. Only having 24 hours in Fiji was a daunting task to plan but we made it work. Fiji is all about traveling out to the hundreds of islands. Since we were leaving the next day at 8am we decided to stay in the airport town, Nadi. I wouldn't recommend it for your next trip to Fiji, but it worked for us due to our quick visit.

Port Denarau is about 15 minutes from Nadi and boats shuttle out to the chain of Mamanuca and Yasawa islands all day. We booked an early morning trip with South Sea Cruise to Mana Island so we could spend the full day in paradise. Mana felt like we had a private island all to ourselves. We spent the day under our personal palm tree, snorkeled in the turquoise water and dipped in the infinity pool.    I think around 5 we got our boat back to the main island. Timing was perfect and we got an incredible sunset on the trip home. We were extremely jet lagged so we had an early dinner and called it a night. Caught our 8:30 am flight to New Zealand the next day, stay tuned to see everything New Zealand on my next post!

xx, J
